Unlike Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z received way better with both foreign and English audiences, and has been loved since the series first came out. This is why the more recent movies are even better. Dragon Ball Z is the sequel series to Dragon Ball and was released in 1989, only weeks after the original series finished airing. Master Roshi shows off his muscles, but still doesn't get to fight.
